Who is out there violating us for nothing? What idiots!?
you know that anyone can send yahoo a note that we're violating the rules though we've done nothing wrong? and, yahoo just takes their word for it>?? I think this stinks! i got a note from yahoo that I had violated the terms and when i complained, they sent another email saying they don't have time to check these reports out.. they just go ahead and violate you! That's wrong, no?? I know I'm irritated, still!
And, I lost another 5 points for this.. but I';m mad!

Probably because the Yahoo Answers Team is illiterate and has to rely on the community to read the posts for them. Yours is not the first post I read complaining about this problem. If the Yahoo Answers team had any common sense (which I doubt) they would realize that the report abuse option is in fact being abused. Yahoo Answers is trusting the community to enforce the guidelines and failing to perform their role as moderator. It is just like policemen giving guns and badges to citizens and telling them to enforce law and order. Reporting abuse is useless on here. As you can see the problem of silly and perverted questions has not gone away. The worst that can happen is the offenders accounts get deleted. That isn't a problem because they just create new ones in seconds.
The Yahoo Answers Team should just do away with the Report Abuse option. It is a waste of time and useless when the Community guidelines are going to be sporadically enforced. Accept that this is Cyberspace, a community made up of diverse people some who will push their free speech right to the nth degree. Those who don't like it have freedom as well to leave this site or ignore the content they don't agree with.
To the people with the reporting Jones, I leave you this quote:
"When you tell on someone you are really telling on yourself and what you are telling people is that you are a tattletale." Mike Brady

I've been known to report questions or answers that have never been deleted, so they must be looking into a little bit! And presumably, when they sent you the initial email to say you'd violated the terms, it gave a reason for why this was the case.

Abuse reported for calling us idiots.
Haha, just kidding. I got reported for calling a guy an idiot. (He was.) Oh well, I got over it. Not worth stressing over the idiots--just report them back!
And what is the Answers team doing if not checking violations? I think they're playing Literati.

They should really read the reason why u were in violation or why someone was offended. That does not sound right. I guess yahoo answers isn't perfect!

I agree that is wrong,my friend got suspended from here for no reason. Some people just have to much time on their hands, and love to report people

Looking at your questions, I'd say you were lucky to get just one violation notice. You have a lot of questions that could be categorized as "chatting."

I've had those as well, but I think they are funny. I got one for "Insulting Other Participants."
I mean, I just told the guy to drink alot or ram his head into a wall. He couldn't sleep! That's what I'd do in his situation...

I agree with you, I would be upset too...
I figure since this is a new item for yahoo that they will work out the kinks sooner or later, so bare with them.

i think that in their yahoo abuse resolution center the computers are taking place of people and thats why alot of you are getting these for blank reason. BRING THE PEOPLE BACK we hate dealing with computers. . .
Source(s): . . . also i hate talking to machines when they cant even understand you and then connect you to a real person <random>
