Bought a new computer. How do I transfer information from old computer to new computer?
Lots of stuff on the old computer is junk and I don't want to save any of that.
Finally, how do I clean the old computer of personal information?
I know very little about any of this.

You take a CD-RW and you copy as much as you can on the CD from the old computer. You may have to use a few of these CDs. Then reformat your old computer by installing Windows again or by formatting and using your recovery CD.
Then take your CD and just manually move them to your new computer.

Listen here. You take your old HDD(Hard Disk Drive),take a axe or a hammer and destroy the old HDD.Now there is no personal information.
