Why would someone write "try putting down the fork"? That seemed unnesesary. But, for me, i cut out ALL in between snacks and treats for 1 year. Seemed to help me. I was in college and all I did was study, eat and sleep. I would eat whenever I felt hungry. No set time to eat, i just ate. Then, I would stop and get a candy bar or some chips. I saw myself in a wall mirror that was at the top of the 3rd floor at school and I didn't even recognize myself. Huffing and flab. But, I just got mad at myself for letting this happen. Workout, eat right, and cut all inbetween snacks. I was at 295lbs, now I weigh 224lbs. This took me actually 2 years to lose, but 6 months to gain. Keep on losing the weight and remember, you have to want it to lose it.

No diet works. That's why they're called diets - it gives a name to a temporary change in habits to make us feel like we're doing something good for ourselves. Wanna lose weight? Two simple rules: Eat less, exercise more. Don't deny yourself any foods. But if you're going to have pizza, have 1 piece of pizza, not the whole friggin' thing. Have 1/2 cup of ice cream, maybe with strawberries, not a whole pint of Ben & Jerry's. As you start eating healthier and see a few pounds come off here and there, your cravings for junk food will eventually go away. And exercise means cardio. Get your heart rate up. Do something that will run you out of breath. And don't feel like you've got to run a marathon right off the bat. Remember, anything you do is more than you were doing before. If you can only make it 50 steps on the stairmaster, or 1/10 mile on the treadmill, then do that. You'll improve over time.

    Good luck.

Hospital food, but I don't recommend the 2 months there along with 10 days on a respirator... I did lose 40 pounds, though. I've kept it off by passing by the sausage, pizza, cheeseburgers and fries. Fresh lean meats and fish. Lots of veggies, sun-dried tomatoes, salads with homemade oil and vinegar dressing and plenty of fiber (granola, multigrain WHOLE grain breads, 0atmeal, wheat germ...) I cut out the sweets! Diet soft drinks and sugar free candies when the urge hits. Mostly I drink my favorite bottled waters, Iced Tea and 2% Milk. Eat some cheese when I want but not too much. Fad diets are a waste of your money. make a plan and stick to it!

LA weightloss worked best for me. No special foods just reducing the amount you intake and keeping a food diary.

the only diet that actually worked for me was eating less and filling up on low calorie items like salad, and walking 3 miles every day. the doctor actually told me, take what you want, and then put half back in the pot, Try it, it can't hurt
