can someone help me?

if then size fish head was 9 the tail was equals to head plus half of the size of the body and the body was equals to the size of head plus tail. what will be the lenght of the fish? (lenght is equals to head+tail+body). my answer is 72 but the real answer was 71 how can it be?

    Let B = Length of Body, T = Length of tail

    T = 9 + .5B

    B = 9 + T

    Substituting

    B = 18 + .5B

    .5B = 18

    B = 36

    T = 27

    Total Fish = 9 + 36 + 27 = 72

    Well, I got your answer of 72 too. There is the possibility of the answer of the question being wrong in the first place.

    Maybe this is a trick question. See the phrases "size of fish head", "size of body", "size of tail"? It doesn't make any sense to take size as length, isn't it?

    9=h

    t=h+b/2

    b=h+t

    t=9+(9+t/2)

    t-9=9+t/2

    2t-18=9+t

    t=27

    27=9=(b/2)

    18=b/2

    27+9+36=72

    I AGREE ALSO!!! WWhatever gave you the "real" answer is STUPID!!!
