asthma in cats - help?

We have a 14 year old cat ( darling) that has been

being treated for asthma for a year now with steriods

monthly. Recently she is not responding to those.

Very weak, lathargic. Peridoc not eating.What are my options to further treat?

    Steroid shots can lose their effect after a while. I would get a second opinion on what her condition is from a veterinary specialist (they have them for everything from veterinary ophthalmology to cardiology and allergy & asthma). The weakness and lethargy could be a withdrawal or dependency from the steroids, but her blood sugar could also be off. I am surprised your vet has not suggested a CBC (Complete Blood Count) to see if there are any additional problems she may be having. Good luck.

    Maybe breathing treatments might help as they do with peoples asthma or unfortunately she maybe is getting to old. Sorry but i'll pray Good Luck

    Probably got a fur ball not asthma.
