Were there other records, such as the dead sea scrolls?
Do you think other people could have written records of what happened in their corner of the world, like the records that were compiled to create the Bible?
We know that the Dead Sea Scrolls are real. There are records in them that are copies of parts of the Bible, and other records of the Essenes, and other cultural and religious groups.
What about early American Indians? Do you think they could have kept records like this? Why or why not?
The Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered one day when a kid was out with his flock of sheep, and one of them wandered off. When that would happen, he would throw small stones at the rocks on the hill around him, because the sound would startle the lost sheep and they would make a noise. Anyway, the kid was throwing his stones for the lost sheep, and one of his stones hit an ancient pot, which contained a scroll. When he heard the sound of the shattering pot, he ran to see what it was, and discovered the majority of the scrolls in the collection today.
If they could sit there all that time, couldn't that be the case with ancient American Indian records?
As far as written language, we KNOW of none from American Indians, right? That is, we have found no evidence of written language of the American Indians, at least as far back as we have been able to trace.
One thing that interests me, though is that some of the S. American temples have been found to have a Star of David, and . . .
and other symbols of Judaism. Where did that come from? That is a mighty big coincidence, I think. How was that link established, half a world away? If, somehow, people had travelled across the ocean who were Jewish, it would make sense that there would be remnants of their culture found in ruins found today. Also, it would make sense to find written records that they had made, since they would have brought that with them. Perhaps the American Indians just lost that written language over time. What do you think?

The only native American group that had written language were the Mayans (and subsequently the Aztecs when they conquered them). The record of the ancient Americans is called the Book of Mormon.

They got a lot of info from a Jewish historian of Christ's time, Jehosephus, or something like that.
The American Indians didn't have their own written language, they used stories to tell their histories.

Unfortunately some cultures didn't keep written records. Either because they didn't have a written language or they didn't believe in keeping their religious beliefs on paper (the Druid's for instance).

Most of the aboriginal and African tribes kept records by word of mouth and cave drawings. This is of course one of the reasons we know that Animism or ancient Pagan forms of religion is the oldest form of religion known to mankind. The pyramids in Egypt are another record of ancient forms of spirituality. You can learn from all of theses religions.
