No that is way way too low.. You need to eat something or drink some orange juice fast, even candy. You MUST talk to your doctor about this. You may be bottoming out. Try to keep record of the time of day this is happening.. My Mom had this problem and twice she fell out in a diabetic coma. She could have died if no one was there.. You could too..

This is a must.. It should not be that low...

NOW ONE MORE THING.. IF YOUR METER IS OUT OF WHACK OR THE STRIPS ARE OLD, YOU CAN GET FALSE READINGS FROM THAT. TAKE YOUR METER TO THE DOCTOR WHEN YOU GO AND THEY CAN TEST IT FOR YOU.. IT MAY NEED BATTERIES.. Oooops, Sorry I didn`t mean to yell.. {:-)

Good luck and God bless <><

    Hello:

If your blood sugar was truly 30, you would be suffering many symptoms from hypoglycemia. You may need to purchase a new glucometer or have the one you own calibrated. If it truly was 30 you would have symptoms, but I suppose nothing in medicine is absolute. If you get a reading of 30, get something sweet very quickly. A big glass of orange juice is probably the best. You can also purchase at your pharmacy, rapidly acting glucose squares and carry them with you at all times. If your glucose was truly 30 then you probably are insulin dependent and didnt eat after your insulin injection or non insulin dependent and are on an oral medication such as glucotrol that will drop your blood sugar if you dont eat with it.

Regardless I would discuss with your doctor and buy a new glucometer!

I hope this answered your question and alleviated some of your concerns.

    Regards,

    Warren Shaffer M.D.

Low blood sugar, or (hypoglycemia, is a commonly perceived problem. In actuality, while some or many of the symptoms may be present, it is rarely documented. The presence of true, documented hypoglycemia in the absence of diabetes treatment is cause for a comprehensive evaluation by an endocrinologist. It usually affects those at the extremes of age, such as small babies and the elderly, but may happen at any age. Generally, low blood sugar is defined as a serum glucose level (the amount of sugar or glucose in your blood) below 60 mg/dL. However, hypoglycemia as a medical problem is diagnosed by the presence of 3 key features, also known as the Whipple triad. The Whipple triad consists of the following: (1) symptoms consistent with hypoglycemia, (2) a low plasma glucose concentration, and (3) relief of symptoms after the plasma glucose level is raised. Symptoms of low blood sugar, however, usually begin at a level below 60 mg/dL. Some people may feel symptoms before this level. A level of 50 mg/dL is thought to affect brain function.

You might want to get your meter checked against your doctor's meter. I had one that was always 20 points off which explained my consistent low readings. If your blood sugar was below 30, you should have been feeling the symptoms of severe hypoglycemia and you could have passed out or even gone into a coma. I hit the 20s once and barely got juice in me before I became unable to function. I slowly came out of it but felt like I was hit by a train. There are some diabetics who don't experience the symptoms due to a form of neuropathy. If that's the case you need to be VERY careful and test more frequently, as you won't be able to know from how you feel how low your blood sugars are until you pass out.

    Good luck to ya!

    Many Blessings,

    Lilyth

I am writing to tell you what an incredible impact these methods had on my life! I have had type 2 diabetes for 27 years. For me, the worst part of this horrible disease is the severe pain I constantly get in my feet. The pain is so bad that I avoid standing and walking as much as possible. I've got to tell you that within the first month, my feet stopped hurting altogether and I can now walk totally pain free.

Believe it or not, I even danced at my niece's wedding last month, something I have not done in a many years. I've been following the book for six months now and my blood sugar is well within normal range. I feel great!

I recommend you use the Type 2 Diabetes Destroyer to naturally reverse your diabetes.

THis is going to sound strange, but is your meter set to mg/dl? In the US, this is standard, but in other countries, they use a diffrent measurement that gives diffrent results.

If it is in mg/dl, that you have a problem. You are getting hypoglycemia unawareness. Basically, you don't feel your low blood sugars, which can lead to brain damage and death (I know someone who died of a low. They are serious). You need to talk to your doctor, and make sure your blood sugar is running higher (when I get hypoglycemia unaware, I usually have to run above 120). Make sure you carry food with you all the time, and ALWAYS test your blood sugar before your driving, or if you're going to be driving for a long time.

No, It's not normal. The minimum glucose level that you should have is 70 if I'm not mistaken. If your glucose level is low, you will get fainted easily. Try to chew some candy or eat some biscuit oftenly between your meal. That way, it will increase your glucose level.

Something was wrong normally you would be off in Dada land with it that low. You must be sure the fingers were clean and the meter was checked with a control fluid.

PS keep several packs of sugar in your pocket it may save your life!!
