The 'Nation of Islam' is Not Islam

There is a great deal of confusion about the group known as the Nation of Islam, currently led by Louis Farrakhan. Although the group's name implies that it is part of the Islamic religion, its beliefs diverge so greatly from Islam that most Muslims consider it to be a different religion.

I could start a group and call it "The Christian Church of Jesus" but unless my beliefs matched those of Christianity, the name wouldn't mean anything. It's the same with the Nation of Islam.

The Nation of Islam should be understood as an independent religious tradition that has adopted Islamic elements rather than as an Islamic sect.

The difference is...African-American Muslims or The Nation of Islam,(which aren't all African -American)would never perform terroristic acts or suicide bombings.The Nation of Islam stands for the basic form of Islam.Such as basic rules and regulations ,prayer etc...(as with any religion).They also teach their followers a different,self-sufficient,more productive way to live in this"predominately caucasian" america.In other words you will never find a Muslim in The Nation of Islam on welfare,unmarried,children born out of wedlock un-employed,arrested for any reason.Not even a traffic ticket.Now,I'm talking about devout Muslims.Unlike the Muslim who dated you.A true follower would not have dated you.........and for the person who said something about it being a black power movement.That's incorrect!If it was a black power movement,YOU would never know about it!!!!!

Islam is the same no matter what time what race or what part of the world it is practiced the pillars of Islams are the same to believe in Allah and his prophet to pray , fast Ramadan and do pilgrimage and read and fallow the Quaran

the nation of islam are not muslims(they are a black power group not islamic.becuz islam was created for ever race).they dont even take the quran for guidance.most of my muslim friends(iam also a muslim) are black and they consider themselves to be like muslims all around the world.
