Why does God offers incentive to people who follows him?

In Christianity it is said that if you follow Lord you can go to heaven, in Islam there is some mention of getting 7 virgins in heaven. In Hinduism its again a chance to go to Heaven. Do u really think that God offers these things becuase you follow the path shown by him? Isnt it like making people greedy? isnt it like product advertising of today offering one free soft drink with a pack of potato chips? DO u think God is so narrow minded that it will not allow people from other faiths to people from other religions? Do u think there is a separate heaven for Muslims, hindus and christians? Please dont answer in quotes from bible, quran or gita and please dont get into religion bashing.

Update:

If u come to know that there is nothing like heaven or hell, will u stop following God?

Its not God who offers incentives. Its not the religion which offers any incentives. Its not the followers who offer any incentives. Its the fear inside ourselves, its the loss of confidence in ourselves which pushes u to follow someone else's thoughts in the name of religion or path which shall pay u some kind of benefit, may be peace of mind, satisfaction or heaven. One has to have enough strength within to deny all these gimmicks of religion to follow the path of humanity and faith in oneself to achieve one desires.m not an atheist but still I strongly believe that the strength lies not in following but in preaching,be it to others or yourself.

As a Christian, I don't believe heaven is an "incentive"...its simply a reality. Your body is temporal and will perish. Your spirit will live forever. Heaven is simply the spiritual realm, outside of time and space, where we will meet our maker.

As far as God being "narrow minded", that isn't for me to decide. If God has a plan for people of those religions then so be it. As a Christian, I believe that only God knows their fate. We are simply not in a position to make that kind of determination. If God appeared before you how would you respond? Some would humbly bow before him, others would continue to reject him. Personally, I believe that God knows which people would accept/serve him -- and he knows which people would reject him. The Apostle John wrote that his message was written "so that you may KNOW...". Faith in Jesus Christ means I don't have to speculate on where I stand with God. I know that I am accepted by Him via faith. While I cannot say that those who never heard the message are lost, the Apostles wouldn't have risked life and limb in sharing the Gospel if there were "other ways to be saved". Bottom line: its better to know "where you stand with God" than to simply aimlessly live out this short life. Those who have heard the message, and continue to reject him, have declared their desire to be apart from him in eternity...

Because we are created in His image, made in His likeness, born to serve Him.

He has redeemed us from satan and the pit so He DESERVES our honor and glory.

He is not narrow minded. He gave us the LAW. There is a lot of leeway there. It's the rule we should live under.

There will be people in Heaven from all religions, but not unless they are following the God of Abraham, Issac and Jacob.

There are three Heavens, but not separate for religions.

Why is God any different than us giving incentives to our children for doing right?

I think the subject is more deeper than making us greedy, I think it is because people dose not like to follow rules, and people like to be rewarded after a good job, if you know that you will receive nothing after following religion rules, you will never do it, but if you love god without looking at the end reward, you will do what the lord asked you to do without hassle.

By the way Human are greedy in nature.Muslims believe that all human beings are born pure and will naturally turn to God, but it is their environment which influences them to choose ungodly ways of life. In Islam, therefore, a child who dies automatically goes to heaven, regardless of the religion of his or her parents. The highest level of heaven is Firdaws (فردوس), which is where the prophets, the martyrs and the most truthful and pious people will dwell.

Source(s): i think Muslim , Cristian , Hindus are all following the same God and the good ones of them will be greet by heaven .

Hypothetically, in haven i will go with my memories too. i will know that i am enjoying in haven because i have committed and omitted such and such things as defined by certain Scriptures.

if i do not go with my memories, there is no value of such enjoyment. As, a born rich dose not feel how much more he is enjoying than the poor.

    So is with the reincarnation/reborn!

if one has Alzheimer's disease or got hit on the skull, he/she will loose his/her memories. what he/she will take with him/her then?

HENCE,all lies. OR, these are needed for social discipline.

As everyone wants to live happily in a good environment, we impose social control by myths, faiths and now a days THE MEDIA AND THE LAW.

I will do no wrong because i want to live happily(it is a fact). And, not because i will get a good berth in haven. About Hindu, Muslem, Chriestan etc all are political questions needed throughout the human history for uniting people for good or bad cause, justify an opression, time pass, entertainment(now a days no need to go to religious prayer for meeting people. Internet and television is there) etc.

These are just my thoughts, but I hope it gives you a different perspective:

I think that heaven is a metaphor for God's love, and Hell is a metaphor for the absence of God's love. They aren't physical places, but spiritual.

As we know, God is benevolant - all loving - but He also allows us free will. The way I see it, if we don't accept God's love, He won't force it on us. So if a person doesn't accept God's love they will 'go to Hell' (i.e. be without God's love) but they have put themselves there, not God.

If a person accepts God's love and follows him, they will be able to have His love after death (or 'go to heaven').

I think that 'heaven' is the same for everybody, and everyone will be 'judged' on the same things. People that haven't been able to hear of Jesus (because of location or time) will still have the chance to go to heaven, because God knows our hearts and what we would have done in a different situation.

If they don't lure you for some unknown delightful things, how you will follow the priests and give them donations for their livelihood. Nowhere God has promised a man to follow him and get the ticket for heaven. All these religious books are the venture of some enterprising authors, or some people who did not have any work to do and always tried to ride the horses of imaginations.

Just to be in heaven and see God will be enough for Christians.

There is definitely a heaven and a hell even if strong 'evidence' was produced agaisnt it I would still believe what the Bible says.

    Good Question...

Another set of Q...is heaven really a reward or a place for the next universal unknown? Did THEY really having a good incentive or otherwise ?

    Peace Nation.

Because God is good, those who believe in him recognize this, and those who recognize this believe. Therefore belief encompasses the benefits of this goodness by definition so it is not really an incentive just a part of belief.

This is probably true for most religions.
