parrotjohn2001 's answer is correct but to be honest they are over priced. A carnet (pronounced car-nay) is just as good, thats 10 tickets for about 10€70. If you are staying for a week the carte orange is the best choice.
Your choice of ticket you can buy at the RATP counter in the airport or automated machines with cash or bank/credit cards.

Mobilis
A 1-day pass covering (except airport services) zones 1 & 2, 1 to 3, 1 to 4, 1 to 5, 1 to 6, 1 to 7 or 1 to 8. The coupon is inserted in a card specifying your name, a photo is not required. The coupon can be purchased in advance and you should fill in the date you decide to use it and the number of the card. NB: this card is valid for one full day and not for 24 consecutive hours, meaning the whole day would be counted even if you only start to use the pass at 8 in the evening, so it is far better start first thing in the morning!
Paris Visite
This pass is valid for 1, 2, 3 or 5 consecutive days in zones 1 to 3, 1 to 5 or 1 to 8. The coupon slides into a card specifying your name, a photo is not required. The coupon can be purchased in advance and you should fill in the date you decide to use it and the number of the card. NB: this card is valid for full days and not for 24, 48 or 72 consecutive hours, meaning that a whole day would be counted even if you only begin to use it at 8 in the evening, so it is far better to start first thing in the morning! As a rule, when you buy your coupon, the ticket seller will give you a booklet with details of the different offers the pass gives you in a range of partner establishments. If not, don’t hesitate to ask for it!

I'm not sure about all day passes but you can definitely save money by getting a carnet - that's 10 single fares which can be used on the metro, bus or RER train.
You'll save money that way rather than paying each time and it's more convenient. You can always buy two carnets if you think you'll be travelling a lot!
They are usually sold in newsagents, or shops with the TABC sign so you'll probably find one of those at the aiport to buy some.

the french gadget transport is split in zones. Paris is zone a million-2, then after that it is the suburbs. I stay in zone 5 so this is rather some distance from Paris yet i take advantage of the RER an exhibit practice. Mobilis is a at some point bypass yet you ought to purchase it even once you're a vacationer. The agent won't ask you something, this is the main inexpensive bypass ! So in simple terms purchase a mobilis for Paris (zone1-2) Paris visite, this is for 3 days (If I endure in recommendations nicely) and it relies upon on which zone you purchase. i think of this is costly yet this bypass grants help for various touristy component to do in Paris. this is nicely worth it given which you employ them. My advice is Mobilis is ultimate yet once you like strolling, no choose for a bypass yet purchase a carnet of 10 tickets. i think of this is greater acceptable to locate Paris via strolling. FYI: once you come back from the airport because of the fact this is exterior Paris and it rather is a distinctive fee.

Yes, you can buy one day, three day and one week passes for the Paris Metro. You can buy them in the US (www.raileurope.com) or at the metro station at DeGaulle.
