Mormon Q/A - What about the "Mormon Bible"?
This question was posted by bluuenikki. She asked, specifically, "Mormons use the Mormon Bible, correct? If so, was the Mormon Bible translated from another version? What is it about the Mormon bible that is different from the other versions?
These are all great questions. This is a little more difficult to answer, though, because it could be two different things you're asking about, and I'm not sure which. I'll cover both, and give you the link to last night's Q/A, ok?
First, we use the King James version of the bible. There's more about this in my answer from last night. Also, we believe in a book called The Book of Mormon. It is totally separate from the Bible. There's also quite a bit more about that in last night's stuff. Here's the link: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ao4vX...
I gave a really lengthy explanation to frankyglitz, and I think it will answer your questions.
Walt - we believe it to be very real. Consider the ancient ruins that we call Mayan and Aztec in Mexico and Central America. That's an awfully big coincidence, I think. Also, on that same vein of thought, I read an article about a Central American temple ruin where they found several instances of the Star of David. Where did that come from, do you think?

I have read the Mormons Bible.
Is it real, I mean all those wars, Kings, legendary names, Jesus in a different place at the same time, the strange spirits and apostles, the deluge and all survivors, the gold plates, etc.?

accdg. to the 8th article of faith of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints; "We believe the Bible to be the word of God as far as it is translated correctly; we also believe the Book of Mormon to be the word of God."

Don S spewed:
>Mormons only follow the Bible
>as long as it's interpreted
>correctly, which means that
>they only follow the parts
>that agree with their teachings.
Hmmm... just like christians?
Pick & choose the parts you like and evade questions on the rest?

You have at least three inspired writings, Bible, Book of Mormon, Pearls of Great Price. How can there be three inspired writings? One Lord. One Faith. One Baptism. Remember the book of Mormon is fake. The original 1830 version has the words Jesus Christ in it in 600 b.c. Realizing the mistake since Gabriel told Mary what her Sons name would be roughly 3 a.d. the Mormons quickly changed Jesus Christ to Messiah. Sounds like a bunch of nonsense to me.

Mormons only follow the Bible as long as it's interpreted correctly, which means that they only follow the parts that agree with their anti-Christ teachings.
This I believe; http://homelessheart.com/testimony.htm
