Who all thinks that Yahoo! are a bunch of Pricks that Censor everything?

You can't write whatever you want. Yes I understand the concept of freedom of speech, you CAN say whatever you want just not on Yahoo. You have the freedom to say it, they have the freedom to remove it. There are kids on this site, you have to keep it reasonable.

They do censor everything in China, and even have helped authorities in arresting dissenting bloggers in the past.

So, yeah, I agree with you. Like most multinational corporations, yahoo does not really give a crap about your freedom of speech, your wellbeing or any other ethics or ideals, for that matter.

It's all good and free as long as they keep making profits from it, that's the sole real aim.

We should be very worried about the direction the world is heading to.

It's not the fault of the Yahoo Answers Team, however, but of their bosses, the rest of the multinational stablishment and the irrational economic system we are living in.

Well Frankie it seems to me you just opened a big can of worms.I am sorry you are having problems with Yahoo!Answer.But like the rest of them who stated that there are minors that do come in here that need protection from some of the material I have seen.I for one do not mind them censoring certain answers or questions.I turned one in for 10 questions that were aimed at sexual abuse of babies and minors.He was very explicit in what he wanted to do.Now that I have said this do you agree that these questions and this person needed to be kicked out of here?If you don't then I have waisted my time answering your question.Censoring certain material like that is okay.I do not agree in the wrong category or misspelling questions being deleted.

Some stuff people write offends others. Freedom of speech is the right to do and say whatever the person wants if it does not break the law and/or creates conflict.

I wasn't aware that posting to Yahoo answers was a "right" rather than a privilege. Yahoo has the right to impose whatever rules they so desire on postings. You have the right to leave if you don't like them.

They also have the responsibility of keeping the site out of legal troubles. Since they allow underage people into the site, it is their responsibility to ensure that materials not appropriate or legal for a minor are not posted here.

I think they are worried about losing their sponsors. They want us to ask questions like "How do I best wax my car?", so they can pop up advertisements for car wax, cars, re painting, whatever to make a buck on the Answers site.

I would much prefer to ask "How do I best wax my ears?" just to get goofy answers without the fear of getting kicked off. Actually, I posted "Should I clean my kitchen?" and changed my icon to a picture of my very messy kitchen. This was in spirit of the looming Answers outage, an unspoken referral that maybe I should get off my rear end and clean my kitchen for once, and stay away from the computer? Anyway, that question got the boot. WTF.

Not me. YA is not the constitution; we DON'T have freedom of speech out here. However, most people manage to ask and answer without running into trouble. What might you be doing wrong?

As a linguist, I would refer to slang words and too colloqual terminilogies used on this site should be banned. This is a global matter, not a teenage site

It's their website, and they can censor whatever they like. If you want a more open website you can do something proactive like finding or creating one instead of complaining.
