Who has been the most influential person in your life...and why?

Tina Turner. Cause I was in an abusive marriage for 24yrs & I recently saw the movie made about her life. She left with nothing & achieved so much more. I then decided that I could do it too. So two yrs ago I left my violent husband & I have just started my own buisness

Although very little has influenced me, the person that has had the most impact on my thoughts was George Orwell, through his book 1984. Said book pointed out the behaviors of doublethink and the related affinity for opposites, which I recognized as genuine human psychological behaviors, and which I ended up studying with observation and analysis.

Back when I was a kid, a family friend... call him Bryan, was having a profound impact on my way of thinking but of course, I didn't realize back then.

From him, I've developed an analytical mind and an eclectic taste for people and culture. He was also quite religious... but not to any one single religion. He read the Bible and came to his own conclusions about the nature of God and the universe. He was generous to a fault and completely steadfast in his beliefs.

I owe him a great deal.

The prophet Muhammad, because he delivered the message of God, and that's how it paassed on to me. Otherwise i would have been drifting.

Life is not to live as per own's desire or for physical pleasure only, there is a purpose to life. Try to find the purpose of life, before it is too late.

My Grandma. She had 14 kids, 4 who died before the age of 2. She raised 10 kids through alot of tough times, took in 8 outside kids and raised me. She always put everyone before her self and made sure that everyone always had what they needed, even if they didn't know they needed it at the time. She is 86 and is still alive, shoveling snow, mowing grass and chewing out the mailman when he forgets her check! :) Watching her as I was growing up has gotten me through alot of tough times in my life and I love the woman to death!

My father.

He was the smartest man I ever knew. He had a way or finding real joy in the world around him and seeing the beauty of everything. He was willing to learn something new right up to the day he died. I can still hear him say "learn something every day."

I hate to admit it but my stepfather, because he screamed and yelled at me most of my teen years, it kept me out of trouble(most of the time)

Is this for a personal essay for college?

My mom, she is so smart, and has taught me a lot, I hope I am just like her when I am older.
