Question about the Rhythm Method?

Anyone else out there also on this method and pregnant? My wife and I are using this method, and we think that we may be pregnant; my wife has experienced a change in her CM. The change being that there is none, we’ve been on this method for over 10 months, and this is the first time it’s stopped before it should, she hasn’t gone to the doctor yet cause she hasn’t missed her period yet, but I was wondering. If anyone else on this method who has experienced the same thing, and if so did you end up being pregnant?

Update:

First *slaps Allie*

Second we want a child dumba$$

We just can't figure out the sudden change in her CM

Update 2:

also Allie, all forms of contraception between a husband and wife are against my religion, the CM method is the prefered method of birth control for the church.

Update 3:

Yes pregnancy test are ok, but if you test prior to the missed period the tests accuracy goes down dramaticly, from 98-99% down to about 45-65%

As for the blood test we went to our doctor and he still wants to wait about 2-3 week. If she is pregnant we are only about 10 days pregnant, and it's too early for most test to pick up, but we have noticed a change in her CM, and I can't find any info on a change in CM in the very early stages of pregnancy.

I am not sure what the 'Rhythm Method' is but I can say that just because a woman is pregnant, her cm does not stop. Tho it is different for every women. I am almost 6 weeks pg and still have tons of cm.

Good luck I hope this is a BFP month for you both!!! :) :) :)

Are pregnancy tests against your religion? Maybe it's time for a little visit to the drug store? Hmmmm. Some of the newest tests out can test even before the first missed period. The best bet, though, is always a blood test.

As to the comments about birthcontrol...hey, you post in such a broad forum you're going to get a wide spectrum of answers. Instead of lamenting that, why not ignore them? Or understand that people are genuinely trying to help, they just don't have all the info or something?

Where in her cycle is she? It is *normal* to have no cervical fluid after ovulation. This may alternate with non-wet fluid for some women, but if she is dry early in the cycle (the first few days after her period) or after having the really wet fluid, it is probably not a sign of pregnancy.

For best results, she should also chart basal body temperature. That will let you know when ovulation has already passed so that you don't have to worry about the lack of cervical fluid.

For more details, please read _Taking Charge of Your Fertility_ by Toni Weschler. She goes into all this in a lot of detail so that you can understand better what is happening with your wife's body.

Supports Cisco in his attempts to use the rhythm method. I agree with you! You don't hand shake with a glove on so why would you make love to your wife with a barrier!! People like Allie will never know true intimacy.

In order for the rythem method to work your wife must be regular. If you don't want children you must find something more reliable .

If you don't want to have a child, you need to use hormonal birth control and condoms. End of story.
