Bugs,Bugs,Bugs?

If they are flat from side to side (kind of like a black strawberry seed set on it's edge but smaller), they're probably fleas. There are a great number of websites that deal with how to identify and get rid of them. Just search for "flea control."

You can walk around for an hour in a clean pair of white socks. If, at the end of an hour, you find more than 6 or 8 of them, it's a pretty bad infestation and needs to be dealt with aggressively. You'll probably also have itchy bug bites on your ankles and lower legs. I moved from high in the Rockies, where fleas don't live, to California, and it took me months to figure out what was going on.

Read up on it, and if you're sure it's fleas, you need to treat your furniture with a spray, your pets with spot treatment (or some other way - collars don't work very well), and the entire house with bug bombs made for the purpose. READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY.

I was awfully embarrassed when I realized what was up, but I found out that just about everybody out here has to deal with fleas now and then.

Dust mites are microscopic, NOT visible with the naked eye and are NOT bugs. They are Arachnids in the same group as the spiders, scorpions, ticks and have 8 legs, not 6.

There are many things that allergists suggest to help reduce dust mite population and their feces in a home of a sensitive person. Covering bed with a plastic mattress pad and repacing pillows regularly help some. You can buy special pillow covers too. Even at WalMart. If a pillow is old, by volume it can be mostly dust mites. Removing carpets and replacing floor coverings with laminate or tile help too. Vacuuming daily with excellent hepa filter vacuum helps too. Air purifier technology is geting much better. There are some pricey ones that are awesome, maybe $700, but they work GREAT. People with serious respriation problems, it is very helpful.

I think dust mites are microscopic, so what you are seeing crawling all over the place is something else. I'd call an exterminator and have them evaluate the type of bugs you have, then have them take care of it. Good Luck!

Dust mites are everywhere, even in your bed. You most likely can not see them because they are smaller than the period at the end of this sentence. You should have a professional service come in and evaluate the situation so that it can be treated accordingly.

Call an exterminator. Bugs can live in clean houses. You cannot see dust mites. They are microscopic so it must be something else.

Well, Lysol is only an air freshener. If I were you I'd go to your local store like Wal-mart or whatever it is you have and read on the bottles of bug spray, they normally tell you what they kill and buy the one you need.

P.S. It's most likely not DM's it is probably something else.

I'm allergic to them too and their dead bodies and feces. They are microscopic so you are probably seing some other insect. Maybe small beetles or lice. Catch and identify the insects. If they really are dust mites, just vaccuum and do laundry more.

Are you sure they are dust mites? I thought those things were microscopic. If you have dogs or cats, they might be fleas, which are attracted to white clothing. Do they jump off? And do you have any insect bites on your skin?

I don't think they are dust mites... I would advise you to to check into the 'lice' category to see if that's what the problem is, as lice need more than soap and water to die.

I don't think dust mites are visible to the naked eye...Must be some other infestation problem?
