My 11 month old is very scared of the Commercial for I. O. Digital Cable?
We have satalite and that commercial comes on like every 20 mins. Just as soon as he hears it....he comes racing across the floor crawling to me. Before my twins would break their necks trying to see this commercial. Just wondering is there anybody out there having the same reaction. I kinda wonder if the commercial has some subliminal message?

Shut up all of you who are only answering the question to ask why an 11-month-old is watching tv. HE'S ALMOST A YEAR OLD, what child doesn't watch tv? And what is it, a law that children under the age of one can't watch tv? It's funny how you will jump on the backs of someone who is letting their year old child watch tv, but you go right along with the questions about sex, drugs and immaturity.
At any rate, he may just be afraid of the music that's coming from it. My friend's neice can't listen to the beginning music/intro to some movies (I wish I could describe that song better, but it's a generic, drawn out sound that goes from quiet to loud that plays before certain old movies (it's been around forever)).. anyway, she's two and she's NEVER been able to listen to the music. Everytime it comes on she cries and screams for no apparent reason. Even myself when I was younger had the same reaction to this noise and the ending song to a certain tv show.
I'm not sure if there's a deeper meaning, but I know it's definitely not uncommon. He should outgrow it, much like I did. The noises and song still give me chills, but my parents said by the time I was about five I wasn't screaming or getting afraid of the music anymore, I just didn't really want to hear it and would either walk away or cover my ears. I'm 22 now and don't have any negative reactions to either of the songs other than a negative feeling in the pit of my stomach.
I wish I had more information for you! I'm sorry for the stupidity you see and receive on this site.

It could be something with the lights or color or imagery in it or even the tonal qualities. Some commercials and other things will scare small children like this because of something that just triggers their fear. The next time it comes on turn the volume off and see what he does.
