Help!!!!!!!?

I am 12 and I am over weight I need help losing weight. I tried dancing 3 days a week 4 20mins, any ideas?

    It's not just how much you dance or exercise, but it's a balance of how much and what you eat to how much and how you exercise. And it's all related to your resting metobolic rate (how fast you burn energy).

    Less fatty and Carb rich meals with higher protien is best. a 40% protien to 30% fat and 30% Carb (Calorie count) is good. Eat smaller meals, 4-5 spread out through the day, don't eat 3 big meals. Best to get a doctor to measure your resting metobolic rate, and have them tell you how many calories you should eat per day to maintain or loss weight. Then take the 40/30/30 to figure out how much protein, carb and fats to eat each day.

    Now exercise, minimum 3 times a week for 30 minutes, more if you want to loose weight. Each time you exercise your target is 75%-80% of YOUR maximum heart rate. Also ask you doctor what this is for you.

    You must do BOTH of these to loose weight and stay fit....good luck

    You will need to dance for at least 30 - 45 minutes 4 days a week to see results. You will also need to make sure you are eating healthy. No soda, no sugary drinks, no cookies, cake, candy and donuts. You have to choose healthy snacks and eat smaller portions. Don't starve yourself. You are still growing so as you are eating healthier you will get taller and you will slim down. I was very overweight when I was twelve. I'm 40 years old now and I have spent most of my life worrying about my weight. Enjoy your life and don't let it be the center of your world. It will come off as long as you take care of yourself and you stay healthy. Keep dancing. Good luck.

    hey dont ever get down about ur weight...when i was 12-14 i was a VERY chubby kid. It took self- discipline, self- confidence, (looks arent all that matter!) im now 18 and i've learned to control my eating habits...Here is what i did to loose the extra pounds...i stopped eating after 8 Oclock, not even snacks...1 soda a day which was hard for me cuz i loved dr. pepper...and i drank alot of water...Find a hobby that envolves being outside, its fun and you get to excersize, stop worrying and be a kid. O- and dancing does help keep up the good work kiddo

    Sweetie if you are 12 years old, you need to understand that your body is going through a lot of hormonal changes and physical changes over all. It is good that you are exercising and trying to remain healthy. But the best thing for you to do, is to ask your parents or guardian to take you to your doctor. Your doctor will be better able to assist you with dieting methods. But understand that it is normal for girls to experience weight variations with puberty!

    First if its dancing then more then 20mins a day its should be at least 30mins or 60mins Or go to a gym or do things that you like like swimming

    the secret is burning off more then you consume. you need to monitor your intake..avoid alot of breads,pasta,sweets and salty foods(retain water) and keep up with your exercise routine. with the nice weather upon us..go out for a walk after dinner with your family of friends. don't cheat yourself short..its a life change..don't do anything foolish for the moment..with fad diets..you just end up gaining it back. i've tried every diet under the sun..they don't work. it comes down to diet and exercise...thats it. good luck...you're still maturing..don't starve yourself..your body will retain the fat because its not being fed. eat 3 times a day and two snacks a day are suffice.

    What are you eating? examine your diet sweetie,, are you eating to many carbs, maybe to much fatty foods,, cut back on that, eat more balanced diets, chicken,, turkey, salads, tons of veggies,, and yes exercise is very important at least 30 Min's every other day..
