I have seen several players on several teams kiss their finger after they score a goal. What does that mean?

What is the significance or history of doing that?

They kiss their fingers because most soccer players are hispanic of some sort meaning the normally are catholic and that is their way of thanking the Gods for their opportunity. You might notice normally the same players reach down and touch the grass when they run on the feild this is just like asking God to keep them Safe while they are playing

I read something about why Raul Gonzalez from Real Madrid kiss his ring, not the fingers, it is because is a wedding ring and he kiss the rig for his wife, I think that because many people copy everything many soccer players has copies Raul

    the players either:

    1. kiss their finger and point to the sky thanking god that he let them score as they may be religious

    or

    2. they are pointing their finger in the air indicatign that they are number one and cant be beaten as tehy hav jus shown by scoring

They kiss their wedding rings, that means dedicate their goals to their wives

if they put their finger on their lips, this means they a silencing their critics (asin telling them to 'shhusssh' if that makes sense).

It can mean one of two things, normally. 1st is "beautiful". 2nd is "perfect or excellent". This is a European gesture.
