Use a big pair of scissor to cut around it, then colour in the hole with a felt-tip pen.
That'll sort it, good and proper.

I would try hydrogen peroxide. If you have a scrap piece of the carpet that you're treating then dump a little peroxide directly on it and wait about 10 min. to see if it changes color. If it doesn't change colors on you then go ahead and dump a bit directly onto the affected area and then start patting the area with an old [clean] towel. pour a little more and repeat the process a couple times.
If, however, you DO NOT have an extra piece of carpet laying around then VERY CAREFULLY let a couple drops hit an area of the carpet that isn't in plain site like the inside of a closet, if it has carpet. If it doesn't change colors then follow the aforementioned steps. Hope this helps you, good luck!

Wipe up as much as you can with a towel, and blot well.
If this is a self-tanner that has dye in it, use something like oxy-clean as soon as possible.
You may have to self steam clean it.
