Away With The Fairies
I've been married for 16 years and have two children (13 and 14) and three foster children (15, 15 and 11). I enjoy current events and like to think I know a thing or two about parenting as well. I've been fortunate enough to travel the world and I've had a long and varied career in advertising, marketing and PR specialising in aviation and the motor trade. I'm lucky enough to work from home these days. You won't always like my answers but then, I won't always like yours either ...
What is E&E in secondary education?
My foster daughter had an E&E exam this morning. She has learning difficulties and is unable to tell me what E&E stands for. Apparently the subject used to be called COPE. Can anyone enlighten me please?
1 AnswerPrimary & Secondary Education1 decade agoDid I miss the publication of the CE chatty list?
It was supposed to be published at 1600. I said I'd copy it for Hypocrite but I can't find it.
Did I miss it or was it all just empty promises?

Can't see it myself. And it's 30 years old for goodness sake - if they were going to file they really should have done it before now.
What do you think? Can you hear a likeness?

What are your views? Is it right? Is it wrong? Live and let live? An abomination?
I'm not too bothered (so long as they can afford to bring the child up themselves) but I do wish they'd keep their revolting stretch-marked stomachs hidden.
28 AnswersCurrent Events1 decade agoA question for motor racing fans re the Grand Prix?
I know absolutely nothing about motor sports. As part of my job I need the dates of all the Grand Prix races worldwide. I've got dates on the official F1 website but don't know if they're all Grand Prix races or if they include some others - for example are the Formula 1 Gran Premio de Espana and the Formula 1 Grosser Preis Santander von Deutschland actually Grand Prix? Or are they other F1 races?
Your expertise would be appreciated!

My husband has just (foolishly in my opinion) dug his car out of more than a foot of snow on our driveway and headed off in the general direction of Berkshire.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-12308...
Mr Ramsay is known for his craggy looks. Yet even he feels the need to mess with nature. How far would you go? £400 for painful injections to get a shiny forehead? Or even further - a facelift perhaps?
Men have now jumped on the botox and fillers bandwagon. Where do you think it will end? Or is this the thin end of the wedge?
Yours views?

Every time I type a capital 'p' my pc automatically takes me to windows media player. I'm having to use lower case here otherwise my case is neatly demonstrated for me!
Do you know how I can stop it happening please? I write for a living and it's getting increasingly difficult avoiding capital 'p's!
2 AnswersSoftware1 decade agoThe Four-Bin Recycling Challenge?
Currently, where I live in Surrey we have all been issued with four plastic containers in which to dispose of our household rubbish.
One very large green bin for everything that can be recycled.
One small green bin for all food waste.
One even smaller grey bin to keep indoors for food waste.
One very large grey bin for everything else.
Fine. I'm all for recycling, so it's not a problem despite the ruddy things taking up three-quarters of my garden.
However, I was a little disgruntled (word of the week) this morning when I saw the bin men emptying the food waste straight into the recycled waste bin before depositing the lot (all mixed up together) in the back of their truck.
Can someone explain what this is all about? Am I simply wasting (every pun intended) my time by sorting out my rubbish into different categories?

My son's homework for the summer holidays is to read a biography or an autobiography.

Any ideas?
5 AnswersPrimary & Secondary Education1 decade agoIs this the next pandemic?
I went to a dinner party last night, where I and other guests enjoyed
copious amounts of alcohol.
I awoke this morning not feeling well, with what could be described as
flu-like symptoms; headache, nausea, chills, sore eyes, etc.
From the results of some initial testing, I have unfortunately tested
positive for what experts are now calling Wine Flu.
This debilitating condition is very serious - and it appears this is not
an isolated case.
Reports are flooding in from all around the country of others diagnosed
with WINE FLU.
To anyone that starts to exhibit the aforementioned tell-tale signs,
experts are recommending a cup of tea and a bit of a lie down.
However, should your condition worsen, you should immediately hire a DVD
and take some Nurofen (Nurofen seems to be the only drug available that
has been proven to help combat this unusual type of flu). Others are
reporting a McDonald's Happy Meal can also help in some cases.
Wine Flu does not need to be life threatening and, if treated early, can
be eradicated within a 24-48 hour period.
If not, then further application of the original liquid, in similar
quantities to the original dose, has been shown to do the trick.
There is one other known variation of wine flu ... this is known as WHINE FLU - usually only suffered by men.
