Yes, it has to be otherwise people wouldn't use it...that's the point!
I have used it and no-one came back to me so...it was anonymous.
Be sure you leave all the information you can as the police won't be able to phone you back to ask for more details, they don't know who you are.... and neither will anyone else.

You can also contact crime stoppers online, just fill in a form with the details and there is no way they can trace you.
Used it too inform on some drug dealers dealing from a car in my road. They disappeared after a few months.
