lilbluedog00 Thanks. That was interesting. I've read most of what comes up in the Google search on this topic. I'm hoping for some input from actual researchers...don't know if anyone with that kind of information is on this site regularly, but it's worth a try.

I don't think so, but those who are abused by family members tend to abuse their family members
I don't think it's a genetic disposition as much as it is a learned behavior

Go to google and type in - genetic componet to pedophilia and then click on what causes Phedophilia and there will be an article on this topic. I hope I have helped.

If it is a type of mental illness (I think so!), it could have a genetic link. Other mental illnesses seem to be so linked.
