great career as an MPH-epidemiologist?
Has anyone found a great career as an MPH epidemiologist? I am planning to start the program soon. I look forward to your answers.

To the other responder, epidemiology has nothing to do with skin diseases, in short, it's the study of the distribution of disease and risk factors in a population. There are many options as far as career choices with an MPH in epi. The first thing you should think about is whether you want to get into public health practice, which is essentially working at a health department or research, in which case you could either work in academia at a university or there are careers in private industry and private research corporations, such as U.S. Oncology and Wyle Labs. The second question you should ask is what type of epi are you most interested in...are you interested in clinical epi and being involved in clinical trials, in which case, there is plenty of opportunity working for pharmaceutical companies. Or, are you interested in environmental epi, infectious disease epi, cardo epi, reproductive epi, cancer epi, health promotion, are you interested in studying health disparities..this list goes on and on.....
Anyway, there are definitely plenty of opportunities out there, good luck in your studies!
