Don't you thinks the referee for U.S vs Italy game sucked? Someone (mafia??) must have paid him big $$!?

you aren't supposed to get a red card for slikde tackling someone. Maybe a yellow card if it appeared to be on purpose, but not a red card. The ref. gave 2 red cards to the US for slide tackles. The ref was also given probation because he was involved in a scam a few years back.

I think that he just lost control, after the third sending off he just did not want to make any real decisions, His placement was bad as well because a few times in the game he was in the way of the players and the pass they could have played. I think when it came to the Pope sending off he only meant to give him a yellow card then realised it had to be a red which he looked like he did not want to do.

The main ref was ok, but the linesmen sucked, they kept on calling the Italians offside when the replays clearly showed that they were onside. Countless Italian opportunities evaporated through the poor judgements of the linesmen, they should've won!

No, I thought it was a great game. And the referee was just fine.

I thought he was fair. He paid attention to the game pretty well. Seriously..did ANYONE paid attention when the americans were offside when they scored? The ref never slacked on his job that's for sure.

I AGREE! he gave us (U.S.) like a million red cards and when italy did the same er sumthin he wouldnt even blow the whistle or it would just be a yellow card!

I thought he was very fair given the nature of the game.
