There was this toy, when I was a kid, usually by the penny candy. We called them "bird whistles"?
It was a half-moon shaped piece of metal. The outer edge had a plastic/fabric and on the inside of the moon shape there was a piece of clear thin plastic. You placed the object up against the roof of your mouth, put your tongue against it and blew, thus making a "bird" sound. Early 60's. late 50's perhaps. Please someone must remember. Thanks.

Yes, I think I vaguely remember that, even though I wasn't born until 1962. I thought it was pretty cool back then.
