I think Crouch is used as a sneaky alternative. He's relatively new and he is a bit rubbish, and other people have clocked on, but with accurate long balls from people like Beckham, they reach Crouch's head and if he's lucky he can direct the header in the path of someone who can score with their feet, or in the back of the net.

I think owen is their best striker and rooney is the best at assisting owen in a strike partnership as he sort of connects midfield with attack.

So, I think Crouch should really just be used as a sub and to suprise people, that's all.

He can play of course....he scored a goal for England. Rooney maybe better than Crouch, but Crouch have better attitude on and off the pitch.

And....Is it wrong too have a good luck charm?

I guess you ask this question because he is a Liverpool player.

Crouch did score despite all the blunders early on against T&T. The guy has the height advantage although he looks akward otherwise. Owen looked a shadow of himself in the last game. There's no replacement for Rooney...the guy's almost unstoppable on the field.

they should give gerrard and lampard more freedom to score goals, they are way better goalscoreers than all the strickers. Also Sven should lets Theo Walcott have a game becuase other wise it would just be pointless brining him to the world cup

aldo peter crouch isnt that good most of his goals were against jamaca thats why his ratio is so high

He's so tall and should play basketball instead. But I'm surprised he's quite good with the ball at his feet. Don't think he's the man to help England win the World Cup though. Good thing Rooney's back.

If he played and did not score at all(even for Liverpool i also mean) then i would agree with you but the guy is scoring and you should be thankful he is in this team.He pulls his weight and if he is also a taliman then the merrier for us all England fans.Give the guy some respect.

He's got to be one of the most awkward football players I've seen in action...how does he play with such skinny legs? He won't be getting much time when Rooney comes back.

P.S. Australia's gonna win. We'll beat brazil twice, once in the group stages, once in LE FINAL!!

Get your money on them before the odds shorten!

Haha that made me snicker :P I do have self assurance prince eye-catching might grow to be a whiny beotch, no longer a demanding dude. He might whine approximately each and every thing and does no longer look after something.

You maybe are correct, but he does have the advantage of being tremendously high. You know, i think he didnt miss a heading when the ball was crossed to him.

he's flukey. Owen is probably England's best striker. Rooney is good, but overrated.
