Could someone tell me how to print a check register from MicroSoft Money? Simple non-geek step-by-steps :)?

2004 version of MicroSoft money, pre-loaded onto a Dell, if that matters.

Printing Checks Can Result in Duplicate Check Numbers

    SYMPTOMS

After you print checks in Microsoft Money, you may discover duplicate check numbers when there were no duplicates before printing the checks.

    CAUSE

When you set up Money to print checks, you enter the word PRINT in the check number field to flag the checks for printing. However, duplicate check numbers can be generated if you specify a check number to start printing checks that contains a check number that is not flagged to be printed.

    Example

Let's say you enter checks 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, and 106 in the register. By changing the number in the NUM field to the word PRINT, checks 102, 104, and 105 are selected to be printed,

In addition, you specify a starting number of 102 to begin printing checks. After the checks are printed, Money replaces the PRINT notation in the check number with the actual number of the check on which it was printed.

This results in the following register entries:

    100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 106, 103, 104

    Explanation

    • Check 102 was to be printed, and it was the first # to be printed.

    • Check 104 was next to be printed, and it printed to check 103 (there was already a check 103, so there are now duplicate 103s).

    • Check 105 was next to be printed, and it printed to check 104 (there was already a check 104 so there are now duplicate 104s).

    WORKAROUND

When you enter checks in the register, do not assign them check numbers. Money will automatically assign them the correct numbers on printing.
