What is a number . . .?

if you aren't thinking of a number you can't write it so I'm sorry!!!

It is any number in the set of all numbers I am not thinking about now, obviously. This is unfortunately tautological, however. Good thing you did not ask to define the set well, since while there is a correct answer for a well-defined description of this set, I am not one who can answer it truthfully!!!

[The question becomes metaphysical as well. How many numbers could I possibly think of? Is this set finite, or am I capable of thinking about a denumerably infinite set of numbers? Maybe even a non-denumerably infinite set?

If so, then the set of numbers that I am not thinking of now is null and I never should have answered the question!]

***Mathemagician you WERE thinking about that number. You obviously knew you were typing a number, and while you didn't know or weren't thinking about the (exact) "value" of the number, you were thinking about the number as being a number which is an answer to Eulercrosser's question!

This question is merely impossible to answer (except the way Mathemagician did it) for you have to think of a number to type to answer the question...
