Rude people on Yahoo! Answers such like "janine_rs"...please read to understand!?

I just wanna tell you that when you answered about what a ballet dancer gets on payment per dance, you tell me to change a career when its none of your business. You are on the other side of the globe and don't know sh*t about my life. I wanna ya'll to know that when someones asks a question, it to be answered. NOt corrected or for someone to give me a whole lecture on how to live my life! By the way, JANIE_RS: I am 13, have school work and live in a town where blondes are not happily thought of by Asians, so its hard to get into a dance school. I have flexibility, coordination, and a heart for dancing and thats all I need and I don't need you to ruin my dream and tell me what to do. Whoever else is reading this, learn from it and understand that you have to mind your own bizwax. Only talk like this when someone specificly asks you for a life's thing, not on some simple question that you don't respect and annoy me with!

Update:

I read all your answers and I want to thanks good and sweet people like you who support me from a compter. I am gonna chose a best answer cuz I have to but you are all great! THANKS

Update 2:

For the Doctor there, its exactly what I am talking about. You are budging in on my medical life when I am just expressing what people like you do to ruin my day. Here you are telling on what to eat, where to walk and what to do. I do not respect that and I don't need any doctor. Really, where did you get that damn idea? I am just xpressing my feeling and I respect your concern (in a way) but as a professional, shouldn't you just help people you can actually see and know about!

Thank you Tiffany and Holly for actually checking out what I wrote and vouching for the fact that I wasn't being rude.

Greatchick, have you signed up for the "Ballet Talk for Dancers" message board yet? (As I advised you to in two other responses?)

    http://dancers.invisionzone.com/index.php?

It is a highly reputable on-line community of dancers from around the world and 13 year olds are welcome there. So if you don't want to take advice from me, then I would hope that you would listen to the people on that site, as it is moderated by dance professionals and members are not as mysterious as they are on Yahoo Answers. Screen names are used, but we share our affiliation with dance (such as parent, dancer, teacher) and our general geographic area. This way people are better able to help each other with information geared to their specific needs.

If you still want to rant at me, I'm reachable through my Yahoo profile, as ranting on Yahoo Answers is a violation of the Community Guidelines. Keep in mind that I'm a grown woman with an adult dancing daughter and am just trying to help other young dancers to make it in this rough and crazy vocation.

Good luck with your upcoming audition.

I understand that you may be sensitive about following your dreams and would like support; and there's nothing wrong with that.

But I read what Janine said, and she was not derogatory at all. She gave you specific statistics from the Bureau of Labor Statistics. In fact, she very clearly answered your "straight-forward question." Then she stated the realities of probability of earning a full living as a dancer.

Later in life, you'll appreciate those people who are honest with you in that way. You shouldn't take it as an insult. Take it as a well-noted fact that you can store in your mind. Take it as something that will help make YOU more prepared than the competition and make YOU able to work that much harder.... because you can see clearly the reality of how difficult it is.

People who can do this are the ones who become champions.

well I just read her answer...and I don't think you should be too upset. People your age are usually get "follow your dream" but she was honest with you, and you should appreciate that.

At least she didn't just say "GIVE IT UP" or something. She gave you statistical evidence, and it was exactly what you asked for. How much do they make was the question, right? Anywhere from 5 to 20 an hour. I think you should vote her answer "best", personally.

I feel you completely... People should answer questions when questions are asked and give advice only when it is asked for. I've asked a rather straight-forward question and got all kinds of smart-*** answers... Kinda makes you wish you could just slap them for wasting your time.

Anyway, as someone who has gone through about six years of ballet classes, if you're still in it and still love it, you're going to be fine. I know how much hardwork it takes, and it definitely sounds like you're up for the challenge. Good luck, and don't let idiots get you down. :)

hey. just a suggestion, not trying to tell you how to run your life, but consider the source. you are on an open forum and not everyone is going to consider others feeling or circumstances. the only person that can upset you is you.

I agree with you 100% good for you. You fulfill your dreams. Good luck sweetie : )
