To any autistic, asperguers, Rett adults, can you tell me please?

At what age did you start communicating with words, how was your life the first 7- 8, I have kid 4yo with ADHD and Neurologic Immaturity, my doctor says he is not in the above PDD's, but I doubt it, but the language is almost cero, he uses body language to communicate, he understands everything, and is very caring and love hugs and kisses.

Stands the eye look for 10-30 secs, but hardly longer, he does not listen to conversations, some times he is in his world, and likes to play alone, but he follow instructions, and respond to his name or apellative, he plays the helicopters toy in the air and the cars in the ground, I mean, when will he start speaking, live the diapers, and make a conversation longer than two words.

Thank you

I would say I was about hmmm 5 or six when I started using words and such. Most aspergers and autistics have trouble using body language and you say your child uses body language. So far at four I would think he is closer to ADHD than autistic nor aspberger's. My mother was quite concerned with me and took me to psychiatrists and other specialists on autism. True the non-speech may point to autism but the body language and the hugs and kisses point strongly away from autism. I really hope he starts speaking soon. You wanted my e-mail no problem its canucksfan729@hotmail.com.

I have a child with asperger syndrome, he's 6 years old. He had difficulties with talking also. His doctor told me when he was diagnosed that he should go to speech therapy twice a week and he's been going for the last 4 years. He has gone very far, right now we understand him 90% of what he says and he makes real good conversations these days. Have you tried with therapy? These kind of kids are very smart, they just need help in their weak areas. Good luck and be patient, love him very much.

Some 4 year olds just aren't communicative. But if he's six years old, then I'd worry.

If you give him cream of wheat for breakfast, it might diminish the ADHD because he's having a riboflavin deficiency and that is the best way to get it.
