God by any other name??
Have any of you considered that God, Allah, Zues, Mathony, Rae etc. are all the same person. God by any name is still God. I believe that there are two entities the God and Godess. No matter what name they are called they are still the same. What's your opinion?
No I am a 27 year old married college graduate with one child.

i am a christian. in a sense i believe that we a re all praying to the same God. each religion believes that there is one God. the reason there are so many names is because we all have different ways of living for Him, as well as different beliefs as to who He really is. When i talk to anyone of another religion, i find that the simple things, such as making sure you pray, or making sure you read your word(whatever it may be), believing that He is the creator, they are all the same. God has so many different names because people try to reach him through many different channels.
hey everyone has their own opinion, ad their own beliefs!! call Him what you wish, just call Him!!!
to any atheist that reads this: i am not knocking or telling you what to believe. you rock on with your beliefs!!!

a psychologist from Netherlands announced his new
discovery about the effect of reading the Holy Quran and repeating the word
"ALLAH" both on patients and on normal persons. The Dutch professor confirms
his discovery with studies and research applied on many patients over a
period of three years. Some of his patients were non-Muslims, others do not
speak Arabic
and were trained to pronounce the word "ALLAH" clearly; the result was
great, particularly on those who suffer from dejection and tension.
Al Watan, a Saudi daily reported that the psychologist was quoted to say
that Muslims who can read Arabic and who read the Holy Quran regularly can
protect themselves from psychological diseases. The psychologist explained
how each
letter in the word "ALLAH" affects healing of psychological diseases. He
pointed out in his research that pronouncing the first letter in the word
"ALLAH" which is the letter (A), released from the respiratory system,
controls breathing. He added that pronouncing the velar consonant (L) in the
Arabic way, with the tongue touching slightly the upper part of the jaw
producing a short pause and then repeating the same pause constantly,
relaxes the aspiration. Also, pronouncing the last letter
which is the letter (H) makes a contact between the lungs and the heart and
in turn this contact controls the heartbeat.
What is exciting in the study is that this psychologist is a non-Muslim, but
interested in Islamic sciences and searching for the secrets of the Holy
Quran. Allah, The Great and Glorious, says, "We will show them Our signs in
the universe and in their own selves, until it becomes manifest to them that
This (Quran) is the truth". (Holy Quran: 41/53)
Best regards

God has many names but I do not believe in the Goddess thing. It is entertaining, but I don't buy into it. I catch your drift, though. What I believe is that when The Sons of Isaac, Jacob and Esau were separated, the many divisions in worship of God came about. The God called Allah is the God of Abraham. After we break ourselves down into Muslim, Christian, Jew, Buddhist, Wiccan, et cetera, the lack of unity creates discord and confusion. Some people's bibles decide to leave out certain parts, believe only some of it and translate way too much. The gravest error comes when the Holy Bible is totally discarded for "goodness." Yes, there is but one Creator, but many are worshipping false idols as well. El Elyon is the Creator of Heaven and Earth, Our God's Name is the Great I AM. Is this "your God," too? Good bold question! Also, God is three-parted: Father, Son and Holy Spirit, not two.

I think you are absolutely correct. I am a Christian even though there are times when my Christian brethren embarrass me. What a presumptuous bunch we are! Why do we think that our Holy writings are any more Holy than the Koran and other Holy books. Where do we get off thinking that our concept of God is the one and only correct concept? As you so accurately stated, God, by any other name, is still God. I noticed that one of the answers to your question said something like "you're like 16, right?". Well, whether you are 16 or 60, you've got great insight and have already figured out the answer to a question that bugged me for 20 years.

Currently, and for much of history there are groups of people or life forms living around the world in your country and others with particular beliefs. Some of these groups think they have a "God" that is better then the "God" other people look to.. The majority of each group would tell you that their God is definitely not the other people's God....
GOD... they (those groups) are all too crazy! I, you can't help them :-(
but you, who have asked this question... you know a truth... they are all the same... continue to listen to yourself and all your dreams will come true.

There is Only one God! Isaiah 43:10-11 that the Words of God says:
10 "You are my witnesses," declares the Lord,
"and my servant whom I have chosen,
so that you may know and believe me
and understand that I am he.
Before me no god was formed,
nor will there be one after me.
11 I, even I, am the Lord,
and apart from me there is no savior.
God send his Son Jesus to die for our sins John 3:16 and He love us
each on of us.
16 "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,
that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Jesus also says in John 14:6
6 Jesus answered, "I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.
You may find eternal Life if you are seeking Him!

No, God told us is name in the Bible. It was mainly Yahweh in the old testament and God in the new. The other names mentioned are gods from heathen religions and should not be mixed with the truth. The Israelites respected God's name so much that when they writing it they would use a special pen at times and remember God said that you should not take his name in vain, not just any name but his name.

I think you might have a point there about God being Allah, etc. For me though and this is just a personal opinion, I believe that there is one God.
