Am I wrong about the brazilian team playing uggly?

Question

As an ex-fan of the Brazilian team, I was thinking of what might have happened to my ex-favorite team. The first time I saw the brazilian team play in the WC was in 1982 (i was 10 years old). They played the real beautiful game. For those of you who didn't see the 82 cup, I invite you to look in FIFA world cup web site for the Brazil vs USSR match , and specifically the second goal by Brazil's 'Eder'. That was the most beautiful goal scored ever, IMO.

Fast forward 24 years later, and here we have the uggly brazilian team playing an uggly brazilian game. So what might have happened you ask? Well, i think i have the answer for you.

Basically, i think today's Brazil team have became the W. germany team of the 80's. Germany in 82, 86 , and 90 played the uggliest game , with bullying, kicking, and no imagination whatsoever. Yet they played an efficent and balanced game and were able to reach the finals all three times.

Yes, you are wrong. 3-0 in the first round (98% sure at least) is never "ugly." Lets wait and see what's next. You can't judge a team after the preliminaries against past WCs.

I understand what you are saying...but I disagree...I think that Brasil has played impressively as a whole...what happens is that Brasil tends to get their egos in the way of the game they know they can play..they try to win on individual talent..and that only lasts so long...WHEN BRASIL DECIDES TO PLAY AS A TEAM...THEIR POTENTIAL WILL BE REALIZED...and we'll see the beautiful game that we've been waiting for...if they never get to that point...then they'll go home early..

In Baseball, the Atlanta Braves have been playing on individual talent for over 15 YEARS...and yet they only have one WS Title to show for those 15...

NOW THERE IS NO ARGUING THAT THEY ARE NOT PLAYING TO THEIR FULL ABILITY BUT YET THEY WILL ADVANCE AND WHEN THEY FILL THE PRESSURE OF A GOOD TEAM SUCH AS GHANA THEN THEY WILL GET THEIR IMAGINATION AND FLARE BACK IT IT WILL BE A BEAUTIFUL GAME LIKE THEY USED TO PLAY.   GO BRASIL.
