Am I right to feel cheated?
I sent for a gamecube game on ebay that came from the UK, and when it arrived today I discover that, oh, yeah, you can't play it on US gamecubes, only English gamecubes! Wouldn't that have been worth mentioning beforehand? It says pal format, but I thought that meant you could play two player. It didn't say only for use in UK or anything remotely like that!

well, yes you should feel cheated if that wasn't specified. but my question to you is did you do enough research on the item in question? if any part about something you're about to purchase on eBay is questionable, it is your responsibility to email the seller and ask. if you have a tendency to impulse buy then ask later, well then the blame lands on you. for the next time, i say be thoroughly educated on it before you purchase it. and if you get even a sliver of that intuition you're blessed with knockin on your brain and messing with your gut, don't buy it. there are many more ads in line vying for your patronage.

Hello, I have an ebay store and you should be able to get a refund. First you have to contact the seller requesting refund. Then file complaint with ebay explaining what the problem is. Then stay on top of it. You can read the steps in the help desk of ebay. As for being ticked yes you should be. I hope you get it solved! Good Luck!

um, no
it's fairly common knowledge in the gaming community that most games use regional encoding
PAL is the version for europe & there's also a different one for US & I imagine Japan & Asia
you probably shouldn't have assumed what PAL meant...
however, if you are lucky you can still get your money back from the person, BUT they are in NO way obliged to give it back to you
you might just want to sell it right back on eBay or maybe there is a store like EBgames that will take it back from you
