Please help with finding the next number?
At one of these parties Historian was asked to figure out the next number in the sequence 288, 466, 754. When Mathematician offered her help our hero politely declined. Then a Biologist came forth just a minute later and his help was also politely declined. Very shortly after the problem was stated Historian had the right answer. I missed when he proclaimed the solution. What was the solution? Please help.
By the way I forgot to mention that the Historian was an expert in science and technology of the Renaissance period.

I would guess 1220, that's the only pattern in the small sequence you gave

not sure but I believe 1042, there is a lost 110 here in this but it seems there should be a number after 466 of 576... interesting..if you do the addition and subtaction the 576 is missing but still the math all works out back to 288,,,lol ,,i give up... would love to know this answer now!!!

possibly 1508.
288 and 466 equal 754, so if you add 288+466+754, you get 1508.
