Lithuania by motorbike?

I am thinking of taking my bike to Lithuania this summer, just wondered f anyone has any experience of this route that they would like to share... I'm well experienced with riding in Eastern Europe, have Slovakia many times. Lithuania is a new one though...

Roads are quite good in Lithuania, except some streets in less supervised towns. You should only stay in motels or hotels where you can leave your transport mean safely, because even cheap bycicles may be stolen here.

I would propose you to visit the Park "Gruto" , Vilnius, Trakai, Kaunas, Klaipeda (sea side), Siauliai, lake region in Aukstaitijos park (not far from Zarasai). You may contact Tourism Information Centres for more info : http://www.tourism.lt/lt/ic/ic.htm

Lithuania, like the other 2 Baltic States, is a beautiful and interesting country. The regal architecture and the Russian Orthordox domed churches are really breath-taking and spectacular.

I have never felt unsafe there, and would encourage you to go ahead and motorbike there!!!

    Enjoy!!!!!

the roads are good, it is safe, people are nice, they speak english, german, most of them even russian or french. it is somehow similar to slovakia, but, i would say it is much more beautiful. don't forget to see the curonian spit. it's one of the most beautiful places in the world!

  • My advice? Do not go there!
