Is it possible that animals have a sense of God?

Do animals worship, have religion, possess a belief of afterlife? Before you answer, please read the following link, thank you...

http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/viewnews.php?...

Animals, despite what some think, aren't stupid. Many are actually quite intelligent and are able to reason, think and communicate with one another. Their behavior is complex as well, especially those like monkeys and dolphins. Given that do you think they have a sense of God or a divine being?

I'm a C. S. Lewis fan. I love the Narnia tales and his other descriptions of animals and nature in relation to God.

I don't know about religion and belief in an afterlife. I believe they serve God in some capacity although I don't know what awareness they have of it.

Animals are very sensitive. I don't know if it's possible to tell how much of their behavior is a reaction to what a human in their midst has on them.

I have a friend who is an epileptic. His little dog knows when he's going to have a seizure. She alters her behavior (she's more protective of him and won't leave his side) when he's about to have one. Whatever cues he sends, he isn't aware of them, but she is.

My grand answer is, I don't know. That is an amazing story. Thanks for sharing it.

I've heard it said from psychologists that humans are unique in having what you could call 'metaphysic' understanding - that only we have a sense of the passing of time and of our own mortality. The caveat there is that it accepts that other animals can understand the death of another member of the same species, but not its own future death.

My answer to that is: how can we be sure? I realise that the human brain has parts and functions that other animals don't, but without being able to 'delve into' another animal's brain, we can never be sure. I've seen animals display a wide array of emotions, and I believe them to have others that we can't observe.

But religion? I'm inclined to doubt it. I prefer to imagine that a belief in God is the one thing that makes us inferior to other animals!

This is one of those things where one thing IS the other. The way our two little house cats follow us around and guide us, the way little Scooter (a little female stray I rescued) looks me right in the eyes, and doesn't look away.... she just looks very fixedly into me, I know it is God Who is really looking into me. All of our babies... our little animal friends have a part of God in them. When I tell you that one thing IS the other, of course, I am just speaking from my own viewpoint. But I have seen animals do enough divinely guided actions over time (I am 63 yrears old) to know that yes, animals have God in them - a "lot of God" in them. In Egypt, cats ruled. And when I talk with my cats, when I speak about life in ancient Egypt, they always come closer to me and make eye contact more often, so - in the final analysis, all you really have are your intuitive, "gut" feelings about this, but I would give you a definitely YES on your question. And not just "possible," but a real and down to earth "for sure!" Sent to you with lots of love from Chris in South Portland, Maine, U.S.A.

Source(s): Also, the way our two cats groom and care for one another - you can sometimes even notice them "comparing notes," if you are observant. If you are not feeling well, your cat(s) will come and sit or rest right along with you - so yes, cats are very definitely "tuned in." Take good care now, and have a great summer! - Chris. (If you are a "dog" person, you must have heard about dogs who have literally dragged their owners out of a ditch or wherever so some other persons can find them, or have placed their paw on the telephone and "dialed" out for help and saved lives because of this... our beloved animals - God Bless Them!) - C.

I believe animals are deeply connected with the Godess, and have an inate sense of her will. They are also connected to each other, and to us as well. We were given free will, unlike the animals, so while we may think as we like, we are not as close to the Godess as they

Your dog almost certainly sees you as a god. and you are so right about animals not being stupid; the smartest animal I ever met was definitely smarter than the dumbest human i ever met!

My sister had an old dog who was very sick. He was in her kitchen. At the precise moment that the dog died, her cat threw back it's head, and howled. Her cat had never howled before.

I don't know what this means, but it seems the cat knew *something.*

the concept of god was created from the mind of humans. amimals have more sense. they only kill for survival. More people have been slaughtered in the name of some sort of god THAN FOR ANY OTHER REASON IN THE HISTORY OF MANKIND.
