Biblical Contradictions?

I very much respect those who wish to be skeptical of scripture and ask how Christians deal with contradictions in the Bible. But I would hope for a little respect in that you recognize that Christianity is not ignorant of these claims of contradictions. I would hope that those of you who write those questions would at least phrase them in a sense of recognition that we have an answer, though you may not like it, to all the contradictions that can be offered. I'm not saying stop questioning, but make it more of a curious question rather than one that speaks implicitly as if you have finally 'caught us.' For a couple thousand years we have heard all of those which you can offer. Christians will be happy to offer an explanation, but it doesn't foster discussion if one just asserts it rudely. What's your thoughts?

Update:

I am not saying that you should accept our answers to the questions of contradiction. Only that at the very least phrase the question as if you are willing to hear what we might have to say. Take it or leave it from there on, but nobody appreciates a question which is only meant to insult.

I think we would all agree nobody should continue on in ignorance and surely this may prompt some to offer these contradictions. But if we give you the respect to hear your argument, at least give us the respect to phrase the argument without undermining our answers before we even give them.

There are no contradictions in the Bible. Everything I have ever read in the Bible, whether religious, historical or scientific is 100% accurate. Any percieved contradictions come from inaccurate interpertation. If anyone here can find a contradiction, I will be happy to help them resolve it. Just post your contradictions in a respectful manner.

There aren't any contradictions in the scriptures - I disagree. Just because one cannot explain a certain aspect, it does not mean the Bible is contradicting itself. There is something we fail to understand - even us Christians at times, that the word of God never came by the will of men, but holy men of God wrote the scripture as they were moved by the Holy Spirit. Therefore, man cannot explain what did not originate with him. God never explains himself and he is not going to start now.

We sometimes even doubt he said anything, how much more will we be ready to except his explanation - as if he needed to explain himself to a mere man.

Let's get our priorities right, before we can expect any explanations from the almighty!!

Bible Coontradictions? You must not be reading the same Bible I read. The only reason the world finds contradictions is because they want to find them. The so-called Christian society that I'm

apart of is seriously fragmented and twisted trying to make up excuses for God. There are NO contradictions in the Bible!!!!!!!

Satan and sin are a hand in hand foe of God And His infalible

word. If all could see, heck! if all could agree! We'd be in heaven right now!

God wrote it man and satan abuse it, and seek to find fault.

BUT! WHEN YOU FIND fault with God! BEWARE!

Word up. I am convinced however, that it is a rare person who is genuinely curious. Skeptic has become synonymous with unbeliever, not curious and open-minded. Despite what they may say, how many skeptics are actually open to Christianity? Very very few.

most bible contradictions aren't contradictions at all. it has simply been translated wrong. and the contradiction about Judas dying? well, first he hung himself, but he hung himself on the sabbath and no one is allowed to handle a dead body on the sabbath, so he hung there for a full day and his stomach got bloated. then the next day while they were taking him down they dropped him or something, and his stomach exploded and his guts fell out.

God doesn't need defending. God will make our enemies bow down before us. There for I will not defend myself for being a Christian. The trolls on here will get a very rude awakening some day...Amen?

The bible does not contradice it'self. If you do not study it and pray to the Lord for Him to lead you through the scriptures so that He will open up its meaning to you, or you will never understand it. God knows if you are sincere in your reading of the bible. You can't fool Him.

    Good point.

A deeper study always sheds light.

But most just read the words like it's a normal book. The Word of God is seed planted in the buds of your mind. Until germinated and watered they can lie dormant. But study can accelerate the growing, because God sees your effort and will germinate and water.

    KEEP MY WORDS

Joh 14:23 Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him.

    WE will come

    make OUR abode with him

I don't ask rudely but, Christians cannot explain the contradictions anyways.
