how do you stop loving somebody?

you teach yourself to live without them, learn to love yourself, ask God for strength and pray. think of all the bad that you dont want from that man and that relationship and be strong!! good luck!

You can't stop loving somebody. If you stop loving them then you never loved them in the first place.

You don't. All you can do is stop feeling the pain for awhile till there actually is no more pain from that lost love. Maybe that's a little too strong, but you can fill your life with other things, friends, family till the pains subsides. Whatever you do, you must break off contact COMPLETELY with your past love.

Keep in mind that true love is not a switch, you can't just stop cold turkey. From personal experience things that I found that helped were; having NO contact at all; not keeping any keep sakes or momentos (not even one), have a good emotional support system (family, friends), get involved in a new activity or hobby that has no emotional or memory connection to him/her, and very importantly, give it time.

You dont simply just stop loving somebody. Just dont hang around with them anymore and youll probably always have feelings for them, maybe not love feelings, but youll always feel for them.

I would say for the most part you don't. However, there is a thin line between Love and Hate and a persons action can make you hate them just as easy as love them.

You can't just stop loving someone... although we all wish we could. It takes time and eventually it will happen for you. Just hang in there.

ok. this sounds dumb..but try it...take a picture of them and light it on fire and say to yourself the whole time it burns that you will not love that person anymore and tto take your feelings away...helped me..my mom said it worked for her...doesn't work asap....but give it a lil bit ...week or so
