for appetizers, strawberries (maybe dipped in chocolate), and all sorts of fruit would go well with champagne. A really nice appetizer is spinich and artichoke dip served with tortilla chips and chopped veggies.

To keep with the bubbles theme, maybe give out small containers of bubbles as a favor.

For some games or activities, pass a nice notebook or journal around, and have each write a piece of advice for a happy marriage, and then have them share the advice outloud for the whole group to hear. Plus, it's a nice keepsake for the bride-to-be. You can also 'roast' the bride, taking turns to say funny and (not too) embarassing stories. Fill a nice jar or vase with candies. Have guests guess how many are their. The winner gets to keep the vase, and maybe another small prize.

To keep going with the 'bubbly' theme, blow up champagne-colored balloons, and put a strip of paper in each one. Each strip would have a word on it, like, ring, dress, groom, pastor, etc. One strip would have the bride's name on it. The guests would each get a balloon and have to pop it somehow. Whoever had the balloon with the bride's name in it would get a prize. This next game can get a bit dirty. Give each person a piece of paper and a pen/marker. Have them put the paper on the floor, bend over and trace their right hands on the paper, but they can't bend their knees at all. Have someone write down what they are saying while they are doing. When they are done, read aloud the comments, introducing them as things the bride might say on the wedding night (this really hurts, it's easier than I thought, I can almost get it).

Shrimp cocktail in the champagne glasses for appetizer.

Give champagne glasses (real or plastic) filled with M&M's or the candies using the bride's colors, wrapped in tulle netting

Hide champagne glasses, bottle, corks, etc, all around the house.

Have the guests guess how many items are around the house, or have them do a guessing game like fill a bowl with cork (you can probably get cork from a local restaurant) and guess how many corks are in the bowl.

Come up with trivia regarging champagne.... like how come its called champagne, what is champagne, etc.

And for food, maybe serve "drunk" chicken salad!

Actually its only a marinade, and its easy but must be done overnight

    Ingredients:

Chicken breasts with ribs/bones attached. You can use boneless but using the boned one keeps it moist.

1 large Bottle of any white wine or sherry

A Fresh ginger root, peeled and sliced.

Boil the breasts with 1/2 of the sliced ginger for 35-40 minutes.

Remove breasts and allow to cool enough to handle.

Remove the meat from the bone and put in a large glass bowl, or a non metallic bowl. You can shred the meat or take it out in chunks.

Add the remaining sliced ginger, pour the bottle of wine or sherry. Add water to the bottle and top off the bowl so the chicken is barely covered.

If there's a lot of chicken, use 2 bottles of wine or sherry.

Chill and Let sit overnight or at least 4 hours.

Discard wine/sherry mixture and serve chicken chilled over a bed of spinach or lettuce salad. Use a light viniagrette dressing.

Buy plastic champagne glasses, net tulle (maybe in the color of the bride's maid's dresses, and fill the glasses with mints & jordan almondes. Wrap net tlle up over the whole glass and tie with a bow. We did this for a wedding using the wedding colors of light blue and silver.

A good apppetizer is Cucumber sandwiches. You will need one loaf party rye bread, 8oz. cream cheese, i pkg. Hidden Valley dressing (I like the one with garlic) , 2 cukes. dry dill. Peel, cukes amd score with a fork. Slice. Mix the Good seasons with the softened cream cheese. Spread cream cheese on a slice of party rye. Sprinkle with dill. Layer on a plate and cover with saran wrap. Refrigerate and chill several hrs. (about 6 will do) Enjoy.

You might also try this for an "alternative activity"....

If you have any vineyards or restaurants (or even a really nice upscale wine/liquor store) in your area, you might want to consider hiring a somalier to come for half an hour or whatever and do a Champagne tasting. I always love "learning" something new, and it would be fun to try a few different styles of champagne!

Go JoJiGurl!! Great Ideas!! My only suggestion - instead of OR plus the individual bubbles - get bubble machines and place in far corners - that way the ladies have hands free for the cute games you mentioned. Also, white balloons filled with helium so they float or at least attach them up high.
