I bought a new HP computer and need to run the audio to my home stereo system.?
There are speaker outputs, but only one modular (rca) digital output that wont work to my stereo. (I only get a faint sound of music). The size of speakers I have are way to big for just the computer itself to power.

make sure u have a separate amplifier for the speakers....u can easily play ur comp audio on the speaker ..u just need to have the right combination of male female connectors wired up....can't say which one for u....and make sure there is proper earthing with the speaker system....best bet will be to get a separate stereo or dolby enabled soundcard.....nowadays they are very cheap....

Why is your computer powering the speakers???
Anyways, with only 1 audio output that means you are using MONO which is very weak. You might want to look at getting a audio card with more hook ups. You could always buy a audio wire the fits into your HEADSET plug and then plug that into your MIC input on the speaker system.

get a headphone extensoin cable that has the distance you want, then get a headphone to stereo adapter, then all you need is a cable with stero inputs on both ends and put one end in the stereo adapter and the other one in your home stereo. Thats how i did it with my computer.
