i don't think it's an age thing ... it's a maturity thing. (though you have to be 14 to sign up for myspace.)

kids have to realize that myspace isn't restricted (by default) and people can see all your information. it can be a fun and educational experience for kids - you learn to network, write some html code, make a webpage, and use the internet.

but profiles should be restricted (i am well over 14 and my profile is restricted to my friends only - you can do this by putting in a birthdate that makes you 14-17 and click the "restrict my profile" box.)

Myspace can be a very dangerous place for minor children. Great care should be used in not disclosing personal information and also realizing that you do not know who is really on the other end. Be careful.

Up to the parent, as long as it's monitored any age would be fine. And myspace, is making adjustments to make it safer for it's younger users. My 14 year old sister uses myspace and we have never had any problems.

As with any blog site, I think they should be at least 18. But it doesn't matter anyway because MySpace is shutting down on June 30, 2006.
