talkin on cell while driving?
why do some people think you cant drive while on cell phone? do you ever talk to anyone that is in the car with you while you are driving, there are hands free devices out there too you know. Most of us drive with one hand anyway, why is it so bad to have a cell phone in the other hand?

If you needed to make a sudden movement to prevent an accident, one hand might not be the best control device. I think people who drive and use the headset and talk are fine. It's those that have the cell crunched between the ear and shoulder that worry me. Their head isn't on straight, literally. And those that use one hand to drive and one to talk, they never signal to change lanes, I can't count how many times I've almost got in an accident because of that.

Talking to someone sitting next to you is completely different from talking to someone on a cellular phone. Your attention is much more focused on the cell phone since you can't see the person and it distracts from the road...
I have seen many accidents caused by inattentive drivers, and a majority were on cell phones.... hands free or regular, it does not really make any difference, they are both dangerous.

because your mind is half on the phone and half on the road when you least expect it this is when the wreck happens, if you were fully paying attion it will not happen studies say, and if on the phone hands free or not you will be held at fault in most states, remember driving is a privilege not a right and you must follow the law to th letter when in a motor vehicle cause they can take it away at anytime so drive responsibly

You're in great danger mentally changing from yakking while driving,
to driving while yakking - you cannot be mentally doing two things at once. Deadly - especially behind the wheel.
One of the tasks takes over.

I think for some people...there to stupid to do it, that they should just put the phone down but if you really can pay attention to the road and whose speaking to you at the same time, its ok i geuss. Plus u can always get the ear peices right?

It's dangerous to do- nobody said it's not possible. It can be safely done, in the day time, but onlyl briefly. But at night- your car better have an air bag!
