I use regular household bleach in a hose-end sprayer for my dog run. I put 1 cup straight bleach into container, fill up with water, attach to hose and spray until contents are all gone out of the container. Use a low to medium pressure water. Be sure sprayed area is totally dry before letting dogs out. The bleach could cause their paws to become sore.

I have heard of using garlic in their food. They digest the food, the garlic spreads throughout the body ridding the fleas. I have not done this but I have sprayed and that seems to help more than anything. I spray the dogrun each month. You might do a google search.

Sorry lemon and garlic will not kill fleas it might reply them but will not kill them.

Adams makes a yeard and kennel spray that you can use outside but you will need to treat the entire house and all the carpets and bedding and such. Then start using Frontline or something like that on the dogs themselves.

FLeas are very hard to get rid of and you will need to treat more than once.

It is far better to just go get the right stuff and go from there.

    Good luck.

Yes it works BUT to much of the garlic will cause the dog to have problems.

I have used a little garlic power in the food once every week and then a bath two times a week and it has help.

    Good luck!

Ok, I'm going to be a little stupid on this one! I'm from Texas, so I'd say a Cedar Tree (do cedar trees grow in Indiana?)....also cedar shavings work for a repellent....lemon dish soap is a good one also...for the dogs, vinager and water (50/50 I think...I found it one day when doing a Yahoo search).

For the dogs, I hear you can put a little white vinegar in their drinking water.

As far as the outside, use beneficial nematodes. Check out:

I use these on my lawn. It helps but doen't get rid of all fleas.

I use Frontline Plus on my two dogs. Tried many things/brands. Frontline Plus works best.

I once heard of people sprinkling 'brewer's yeast' in dog food and it preventing fleas on dogs. They bought it at health food stores. I have no clue how much they used. Possibly a google search on it would provide more info.

that is not good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ppl are stupid and do that all the time and get a horrible flea infestion and even ticks with dogs getting lime disease. I help at at vets office and do the right thing for ur pets and if u cant give them to someone who can because its not worth it for ur animals safety and even u getting these things in ur house. or on u which will later.

Use Sevin dust. It kills everything. However, you won't be able to let your pets out for a bit I believe. It DOES do a very good job on fleas and other insects.

Lemon and garlic will not help because it might make you dog more itchy or stinky.
