Yes, my bestfriend in Hawaii ( I live in TX)... we just met after 6 yrs of chatting online and on the phone! It was like we had known each other all our lives. I have never met anyone for romantic purposes however.

I met by best friend online. We've known each other for two years and talk on the phone almost daily. So we talk to each other every day whether she's on Yahoo or not.

If you're talking about relationship-wise, I'd say yes to that, too. I don't see anything wrong with dating online, except that you start to really "miss" the person, in the way that you wish you had them with you physically instead of just mentally.

But it ensures that they're after your mind and not your body! =D

I kind of had. I knew the kid before but i never really talked to him, i just saw him and he lived far away as well. But i mixed his screenname up with some one elses so we started talking. Right now he's basically my best friend. Talking to him online is a lot easier than being able to talk to someone face to face which is probably why he is so appealing. when talking online you eliminate physical appearances and distractions and really get to know the person better because you get to know their PERSONALITY, something that people today neglect.

    Yes, I married her.

Relationships that begin online are different than those that begin in person.

First of all, you've never met face to face, seen all those quirks, facial expressions, etc. You many have never talked if you don't have mics, webcams, etc.

So there are a lot of barriers.

It's a step by step process and it certainly can end abruptly as happened in the first net relationship I attempted many years ago.

Anyway, go for it! You have nothing to lose. Just take precautions. My wife came on our first date...and brought 10 people with her.

    Good luck!

Yeah, i met a guy named Harry in India and we stayed writing for over three years. We still stay in touch from time to time but hardly any more. But some great relationships have formed on the Internet and you may be one of the lucky ones where it works out like a charm! Good Luck.

actually, just recently I have, I can't explain the way I do, but when i talk to her I feel like I have know her all my life, and then I know her wants and needs, kind of hard to explain it all, but it really feels like something good is going to come out of this, and going by my gut feeling, I know it will.

i have..except my friends think that he might be an online predator n wut not... so i suggest to just stick with those u really really know 'coz those u talk to online can just pretend to be the kind of person u want them to be... be careful...
