Heirloom tomatoes are the ONLY kind of tomatoes I grow now! I got hooked several years ago on their fabulous flavors and have grown different crops every year. I have a few favorites I grow every year, but I usually try something different season to season.

On the green zebras, let the areas between the dark green stripes start to turn a little orange before picking them. They are most flavorful then!

As for the whites, I've never grown the Great White before, but a friend of mine tells me the Greats are the most delicious of all whites! When ripe, they will be as large as a beefsteak and a rich, creamy white color.

Hope this helps! And I hope you fall in love with heirlooms as I have! My personal favorites are the black tomatoes. Black from Tula, Black Krim, Brandywine Black, etc. They don't look the most appetizing, but boy are they tasty!!!
