I wouldn't recommend iPod, even though it seems like everyone in the free world has one. The Nano seems okay, but the regular ones just appear of cheap quality to me. Plus, the stuff that comes with the iPods (USB cord, charger, etc.) are ONLY compatible with iPod.
Oh, and another thing about the Nano...my friend had to buy two. Since they're so small and fragile, she broke the screen on accident, and warranty doesn't cover this.
I recently bought a Creative Zen Micro, and I'm in love with it. I can use any old USB to connect my Zen to the computer, and my charger can also charge my sister's Sandisk player.

I don't have a zen Vision, but I do have a Zen Micro photo, and I love it!!! It has an Fm Tuner, and Fm recorder, a calendar, it holds 2100 songs, and a whole lot of pictures. The sound quality is great and it also has perfect graphics with the OLED screen. I also love the touch features, you don't press buttons you have to lightly touch the face of player, to scroll through all that music all you have to do is run your finger up the up and down arrows. Its Super easy. Another thing is the blue light that surrounds it its also awesome. More about it , it has 7 different EQ settings, and about 5 different background color settings. The only thing I don't like about it is that the player uses so much light that it kills the battery, and you have to hook it up to USB to charge it, But other than that its a GREAT Player that I'd recommend to anyone. By the Way I have the Creative Zen Micro photo 4GB.
Good Luck Choosing, Hope this helps.

Ok. If u are looking into sound quality, Iriver is the best, this is what i can tell u; But the program sucks, not user-friendyl, difficult to use (i'm having Iriver now); It sometimes hangs also, about twice a month
If u are looking after style, Ipod is definitely the coolest and on the top list and the sound quality is just behind Iriver. The price is quite high i know, but if the design is what u are looking for, it is worthwhile; the program is very user-friendly and cool also

Don't get an ipod. They are overrated and overpriced. If all u want to do is listen to music on them, go for a cheaper brand/model. Creative has some that are very reasonably priced and hold plenty of songs.

Make sure you shop around and make sure if you are able to run with it and find out about defects and warranties

Don't do as I did and go cheap. Just get an iPod and be done. You won't regret it.
