Should the sport of soccer utilize instant replay during a match?
While watching one of the World Cup games the other day, the commentators, I believe JP Dellacamera and John Harkes, were talking about the use in instant replay to help with certain calls on the field. Their belief is that some of the controversial calls could be minimized with the introduction of television and the instant replay. Frankly I don't think they should even consider it. The game is meant to play without interruption and has for many, many years. Why make those changes?

The game IS meant to be played without interruption, but we all know and can perfectly see that 1 ref having to call very tough calls in breakaways or when he is far is bad for the game.
The only place I would put replay would be on game changing calls.. like a red card or a doubtfull goal. With all the acting that goes on on the field it would be good to have somebody watching it close and with the ability to replay it. I think they should have one ref watching the game on TV and with that little microphone the central ref has he could simply ask before he pulls red cards or takes away a goal
It would take seconds more than it takes right now.. and thats doubfull because in those calls you have all the players argue with the ref anyways.. instead of using that time to argue, use it to check the play.. why not??
I think a lot of bad calls can be seen from above, better than from the field.. especially on breakaways where the ref is just trying to keep up

one hundred% No. it is going to ruin the game. football isn't this kind of American activities the position they ought to end each 5 minutes for a breather, ad wreck or inspite of. i'm satisfied FIFA has stuck to letting the referee be the in straight forward words choose extra usually than not. once they commence including instantaneous replays for refs to envision there is purely no longer an end to new technologies dictating the game.

Yes, I think that calls will be more efficient, and the game will be more clean. they should use instant replay

Soccer is unbearably ponderous already. Replay would only exacerbate the problem.
