your opinions would be great to have, we are just stunned...?

did you hear about the 12 year old boy that died here in fl yesterday? he was at disney world's mgm theme park riding one of their rides. he was on the ride with other family members and he did not survive it... they were on the ride called the rock n roller coaster. very fast coaster with as much force as a jet air plane taking off. they said the boy was healhy but are going to do an autopsy to determine the cause of his death. do you think that the theme parks are trying to make bigger and faster roller coasters and rides in general.. i think they are and they are really not putting very much thought in how it can affect our children, this is a family theme park after all...i think they are just in so much competition with one another they really do forget about the public what do you think?

I believe initial autopsy reports said the boy had a congenital heart defect that may or may not have contributed to his death. But yes I think in competition for the BEST and FASTEST etc. they are making the Gforces too strong. The military goes through months of conditioning and training to take those kinds of forces. How do they expect Joe Average and especially children to be able to withstand that pressure and speed healthy or not.

While the death is tragic, I don't think Disney or theme parks in general are negligent. So long as complete and honest information about risks is provided, people have the right to choose to take those risks, whether it be roller coasters, sky diving, wilderness hiking, cigarette smoking, fatty foods, or whatever.
