How many Final Fantasy's movies are there?

you are correct! there have been TWO final fantasy movies as you mentioned. there is also an anime series, but not as movies.

did you know that its called 'final' fantasy cuz it was the last game square was going to be able to afford to release, but with the sucess of the first game of the series it set the bar for RPGs and square for the next 20+ years. they are all different b/c you'd be SETTLING as a 'gamer' to be limited to what they could come up with - with just a limited idea. This way to make each one different story and charactors and whatever else they throw in there they have set their bar the make each one MIND blowing in their own way.

Theres the 2 you mentioned and that's it although there were 2 anime series as well. Final Fantasy Unlimited and Final Fantasy - Legend of the Crystals (or something like that).

As for the stories being different. Would you rather they just kept telling the same one over again?

there are only those two movies and about the second question i think because square enix want to make as much profit of the games as possible , what i mean is if the games were linked in the story then must of the people won't buy them because they didn't play the ones before it cause they won't understand a damn thing.

there's many of them...because in Japan Final Fantasy is a series of Hentai... so if u want to get more Final Fantasy movies, visit Hentai sites....

I dont think FF: SW must be included. .It does have nothing to do with FF story. .they only featured Gaia aka Lifestream. (?)
