Why are they so many people missing in Australia?
Is there alot of crime in Australia? Unusual mysteries?
Each year, around 30,000 people are reported missing in Australia - one person every 18 minutes. The 30,000 people exceed the total number of victims, reported to police for homicide, sexual assault, and unarmed robbery combined.

It is a distorted figure. That figure includes all Missing Persons applications. So whenever someone calls in because their kid has wandered off and the kid is found an hour later it is included in that figure. Whenever a teenager runs away from home to live on the streets it is incuded.
Only a small proportion of that figure are "suspicious". Most of the people turn up safe and well and were never really "missing".

I think there are a few possible answers. One that comes to mind is the activity of Satanists and other such cults, that require live bodies to sacrifice their blood (and killing them in the act) to Satan. I'm sure that's a large part of the number of people (especially children) that go missing in the US every year and are never found.
